The Two Towers is essentially Peter Jackson thinking of every possible way to improve upon the foundation laid by The Fellowship of the Ring, and succeeding. From the story to the action and set pieces, everything is of the caliber of the first film but elevated to even grander scale.

I had almost given up on this movie and written it off after the first of many short stories that play out but I’m glad I didn’t because whether you get through the first part by watching it or fast forwarding, those that follow gradually pick up and become pretty fun to watch through their themes and variety.
